bio
My worst nightmare is that I will wake up and discover I’m just a writer.
Blogs allow me to pretend I’m the president of a company that operates many web sites.
After marketing Java thingies for IBM in New York, I moved out to the Bay Area to take a job with AltaVista in 1998. I helped launch live.altavista.com, shopping.com and a snazzy looking new version of the once-great search engine that traded the mountains in its logo for a colon. USWeb/CKS said they were “too cold”, for which we paid them a million dollars.
This is what I do now.
I live in San Francisco with Lauren.
