This is a close-up of the Christmas tree that’s up in Union Square. I think the trimming job is especially wonderful this year. I have made a habit of visiting the Square to see it almost every year since I moved to the Bay Area. I have put up some trees in my adulthood. But they cannot compare to the ones I remember from childhood in New York. My mom trimmed those, and they were a gaudy spectacle when she was done. But they were warm — Christmas tree.
